A Self-Reflective Piece

My writing in class is improving.  My skills at getting my ideas out there are developing, I’m starting to understand what I have to write about and how to argue or get my point across in a paper.  One thing I’ve always lacked was starting a piece of writing.  I don’t have essays with strong openers.  My intros aren’t really engaging. Also I need a great amount of work on is organization.  In my writing and research I’m everywhere because I come up with so many ideas that it becomes scattered in my brain, I must learn to be organized.  Being unorganized makes my brain hurt. Creating the outlines before my research paper is helpful and its’ helped me get started on my paper.  In my writing I’m getting better in elaborating my thoughts but I think I’m still a long way from being perfect.  Also in my research paper, when I’m choosing my topic I feel that it’s harder to find information on narrowed down topics than broader ones. I think the handout you gave out, Useful Templates, is going to develop the way I write and organize my research.
Qualitative Research Questions

1. How often do you go on Facebook?
2. How did you learn about facebook or any other social sites when you first started using it? Were you influenced?
3. Does your social life exist more on the Internet or in your physical life?
4. Do you think social media influenced who you are today?
5. Do you mimic what others do on the Internet or are you your own person?
6. Do other people’s opinions change yours? Should they?

Original Video:

Remix Video:

The remix video I chose was a remake of the Insepction movie trailer.  I chose this video because
when I first saw this I thought what they did to the movie trailer was pretty cool.  The video was redone
with a voice over.  All the voices and sounds as well were done by one man.  This video was not only
pretty cool, but also funny because of the way the man made the sounds from his voice. I think all the
sound effects worked well with the video and while switching from video to video I got confused to
which one was the original.  All the voice over work was on point with how the actors mouth moved.
What I found pretty interesting is that the remix vidoe screen was flipped/mirrored from the original.

Example of UGC

This video has a total of about three million views.  This is based on college humor and is intended for people with a sense of humor.  One thing that makes this video effective is the quality, the picture is not bad at all. Although this video didn’t use many resources or heavy equipment, it looked professional, making user generated content just as effective and even more effective than professionally produced videos. This pointless video is an example of how effective UGC can be, you don’t have to be a top TV channel or sales company to have millions of view for something. If this video was produces by traditional media it’ll probably have a higher quality because there would be more money put into making the video and the views would be about the same, not much of a difference.  Also the video may be boring and they’d decide to cut a few things out because they’d be scared of a bad reputation.or sales company to have millions of view for something.
